Connecting for Kids (CFK) provides resources, support and community to families in Northeast Ohio who have concerns about their child. We serve all families, including those children with and without diagnoses.

Embrace the Pace

Join Connecting for Kids for an inclusive race for every pace! The inaugural Embrace the Pace 5K, one-mile run/walk/roll and kids’ race welcomes participants of all ages and abilities.

Ask Us is a free 30-minute call with  another parent who gets what it’s like to be concerned about a child. Our Family Resource Specialists will also give you tailored resources for your family.

Speaker Series

Navigating School Avoidance (ages 7-12) 

Join Rob Adams, PsyD, from Barlow & Adams Behavioral Health and Rebekah Bryson, LISW, therapist and school social worker for Avon Local School District, as they discuss the factors contributing to school avoidance both in and out of the classroom. Families will learn how to improve communication and collaborate effectively with educators, counselors and therapists to support their child's success.

Workshop

Planning for the Future: Family Fun Night (ages 0-12)

Join Kathryn Bryan, PhD, CEPA, chSNC, of Legacy Wealth Advisors, and Dawn McFadden, Esq., of McFadden Bushnell LLC, for an evening of fun to learn all about financial and estate planning for families with unique needs and disabilities. Pizza and prizes will be provided and although we can’t promise all of this stuff is easy, we will promise to make it fun!

LGBTQ Caregiver Connect (ages 0-12)

Are you the caregiver of a child who is gender-questioning, expansive or LGBTQ+? Join Kameron Pepera, MEd, LPCC-S, of Colors+ Counseling and CFK for a discussion where families can learn, connect and find resources to better support and affirm their child.

Caregiver Support Group: Back-to-School (ages 0-12)

Share & Support is a peer support group where caregivers can meet families on a similar journey. Join CFK staff for virtual, monthly themed sessions where we'll share our "roses" (joys), "thorns" (struggles) and "buds" (hopes) to foster connection and support.
