Connecting for Kids Family Outings

Children gather on top of a slide on a playground.

About Family Outings

Connect with other CFK families through CFK-sponsored outings throughout the year. Outings offer casual, social opportunities for families to get to know each other and enjoy time in a social setting.

Outing formats will vary, based on location and host, but may include:

  • Family meet-ups
  • Community-hosted activities (baseball games, park visits, etc.)

For more information on a specific event, please read the outing descriptions.

This pilot program is designed for families and their children ages 7-12 years with complex needs and disabilities. This hands-on program will combine a typical Music Therapy & More program with an informal parent connection group. Caregiving for a child with complex needs often does not allow time to connect with other parents, especially during a program. Children will engage with volunteers and a Board Certified Music Therapist in one area of the room while caregivers will be invited to gather with a CFK staff member in another area for an informal connection time.

This program is in partnership with Lakewood Public Library and is funded by the Healthy Lakewood Foundation.

Not sure what complex needs are? Click here for more info.

This program is in partnership with Lakewood Public Library and is funded by the Healthy Lakewood Foundation. Due to grant funding, this program is only open to Lakewood residents.
