Topic:
Creating Connections for a Lifetime: Strategies for Bonding with your Baby
Whether a baby comes into your life through birth, adoption, fostering or step-parenting, developing early communication and building a positive connection will set the tone for the days and years ahead. Join Carlie Ali-Hassan, MSSA, LISW-S, CEIM (Certified Educator of Infant Massage) and Kristine Snell, MSW, LISW-S, CEIM, of the Achievement Centers for Children, as they teach ways to create a positive bond that fits your baby’s interests, age and needs. Participants will learn about infant cues for attention, states of arousal and what each means. They will also address typical stressors in babies and the significance of touch and its impact on overall development. This presentation will benefit parents and caregivers of babies less than one year of age as well as expectant parents.
This program is co-sponsored with St. John Medical Center. Child care will not be available, but participants are encouraged to bring their infant.
