Does your child have trouble managing intense emotions? Is anxiety and impulsivity getting in the way of school or home life? Poor coping skills could be affecting your child’s ability to learn and meet demands.
Join Shavaun Tucker, LISW, as she discusses practical ways to help your child build better coping skills both inside and outside of the classroom. She will also address the causes of anxiety and the importance of self-care routines like hydration and sleep in a child’s day. Joy Howard, Parent Mentor from Reaching Heights, will also be available to answer questions about special education and seeking support in the school setting.
This program is for adults only and is presented in partnership with Heights Libraries.
Childcare is available for this event for children ages 1-12, but registration is required.
